🚀 Getting Started

This guide will walk you through the basics of using Trade Picker to track stocks and identify trading opportunities.

Step 1: Add Stocks to Your Watchlist

Start by adding the stock symbols you want to track:

  1. Go to the Dashboard (home page)
  2. Find the "Add to Watchlist" section
  3. Enter a stock symbol (e.g., AAPL, TSLA, MSFT)
  4. Click "Add" to add it to your watchlist
💡 Tip: You can add multiple symbols at once by separating them with commas (e.g., AAPL, TSLA, MSFT).

Step 2: Run the Scraper

Once you have stocks in your watchlist, collect market data:

  1. Locate the Scraper Controls section on the dashboard
  2. Click "Start Scraper" to begin data collection
  3. Watch the progress indicator to see each symbol being processed
  4. Wait for the scraper to complete all symbols

Step 3: Review Scores and Analysis

After the scraper completes, check your results:

  1. View the Watchlist table to see updated scores
  2. Click on any symbol to see detailed information
  3. Review the Score History chart to see trends
  4. Check the Events section for upcoming catalysts

Step 5: Configure Data Sources (Optional)

For more comprehensive data collection, configure additional data sources:

  1. Go to the Settings section on the dashboard
  2. Enter API keys for premium data sources:
    • Polygon.io - For market data and news
    • Finnhub - For earnings and recommendations
    • Alpha Vantage - For fundamentals
  3. Click "Auto-Lookup All CIKs" to enable SEC EDGAR filings

Step 6: Get AI Analysis (Optional)

For deeper insights, use the LLM analysis feature:

  1. Click on a stock symbol to open its detail page
  2. Find the "Get AI Analysis" button
  3. Wait for the LLM to analyze the stock
  4. Review the detailed analysis and recommendations
📌 Note: AI analysis requires an OpenRouter API key to be configured in the settings.

Managing Your Watchlist

Enable/Disable Items

You can temporarily disable watchlist items without removing them:

Remove Items

To permanently remove a stock from your watchlist:

  1. Click the delete/remove button next to the symbol
  2. Confirm the removal when prompted
