- Find the "Add to Watchlist" section
- Enter a stock symbol (e.g.,
AAPL,TSLA,MSFT) - Click "Add" to add it to your watchlist
💡 Tip: You can add multiple symbols at once by separating them with commas (e.g.,
AAPL, TSLA, MSFT).
Step 2: Run the Scraper
Once you have stocks in your watchlist, collect market data:
- Locate the Scraper Controls section on the dashboard
- Click "Start Scraper" to begin data collection
- Watch the progress indicator to see each symbol being processed
- Wait for the scraper to complete all symbols
The scraper will automatically:
- Fetch current price and financial data from Yahoo Finance
- Collect relevant news and events
- Check SEC filings for corporate actions
- Save all scraped content to the database
- Calculate new scores based on the collected data
Step 3: Review Scores and Analysis
After the scraper completes, check your results:
- View the Watchlist table to see updated scores
- Click on any symbol to see detailed information
- Review the Score History chart to see trends
- Check the Events section for upcoming catalysts
Step 4: Use Sorting and Filtering
Find the best opportunities quickly:
- Sort by score - Click column headers to sort by any score type
- Filter by sector - Focus on specific market sectors
- Search - Quickly find symbols in your watchlist
Step 5: Configure Data Sources (Optional)
For more comprehensive data collection, configure additional data sources:
- Go to the Settings section on the dashboard
- Enter API keys for premium data sources:
- Polygon.io - For market data and news
- Finnhub - For earnings and recommendations
- Alpha Vantage - For fundamentals
- Click "Auto-Lookup All CIKs" to enable SEC EDGAR filings
Step 6: Get AI Analysis (Optional)
For deeper insights, use the LLM analysis feature:

- Find the "Get AI Analysis" button
- Wait for the LLM to analyze the stock
- Review the detailed analysis and recommendations
📌 Note: AI analysis requires an OpenRouter API key to be configured in the settings.
Managing Your Watchlist
Enable/Disable Items
You can temporarily disable watchlist items without removing them:
- Click the toggle button next to any symbol
- Disabled items won't be scraped until re-enabled
- This is useful for temporarily ignoring stocks without losing your notes
Remove Items
To permanently remove a stock from your watchlist:
- Click the delete/remove button next to the symbol
- Confirm the removal when prompted
Best Practices
- Run the scraper regularly - Daily updates keep scores accurate
- Keep your watchlist focused - Too many symbols can slow down scraping
- Check the Events section - Upcoming earnings and events are key catalysts
- Use scores as guides, not rules - Always do additional research
- Monitor score trends - A rising score over time may be more meaningful than a single high score
